John R. Gambs is one of the founding members of this firm. John was born in 1944 in Columbus, Ohio. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1966, and his J.D. from Indiana University in 1969. John is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, and the Tippecanoe County Bar Association. John served as the president of the Tippecanoe County Bar Association in 1997. John practices in the areas of business law, corporate law, estate planning, and real estate law.
John is a member (1973 to the present) and president (1976 to the present) of the Tippecanoe County Park and Recreation Board, and is also chairman of the City of Lafayette’s Fire Merit Board and is a member of the Tippecanoe County Public Library Foundation.
John collects and restores antique automobiles and fire trucks. Antique fire equipment, hats, alarms, bells, buckets, and shields are prominently displayed in his office. John’s passion for collecting antique cars began at the age of 12, when he purchased a 1929 Packard for $35. Included in his collection is a 1929 Cadillac Town Car that once belonged to Herbert Hoover.
